Brittany Furber née Kilpatrick is a Fashion Journalism student at the Academy of Art University. Furber graduated with her bachelor's degree in Fashion Journalism in the Spring of 2022. Apart from her studies, she runs the fashion blogs Trendy, Classic, & Vintage, which focuses on fashion from a historical perspective, and Philly's Fashion Phenomena, which is devoted to bringing more exposure to Philadelphia's Fashion Industry. Her interest in fashion history contributed to the concept for the fashion magazine Trendscends that she created within the last course of her studies at the Academy. She has also contributed to the Academy of Art University's publication Fashion School Daily. She has since written content for the blog Thee Ethereal and the fashion brand Zhirou. Recently, Furber has become a fashion blogger and collaborator for the brand HERFINEBASICS.

Prior to attending the academy, she earned three associate degrees from Cumberland County College. These degrees were in journalism, communications, and public relations. Her coursework included working on the school’s newspaper, The Voice, as an editor and writer, and an internship at the Boys & Girls Club of Vineland. While at the organization she utilized her communications skills to create newsletters, a program for a fashion show event, and a summer camp yearbook. It was at this organization that Furber received further experience with interviewing subjects, creating original content, and photographing subjects. Additionally, during her attendance at CCC, she received a journalism award, served as the Vice-President of Leadership for the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and was included in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges.

Furber has been passionate about fashion since high school. She would take weekend and summer high school lab courses at the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising. She then used her knowledge to found and lead her high school’s Fashion Forward Club. She educated her fellow students on fashion history, current events, and the steps needed to put on a fashion show. She put on two fashion shows, during her time in the club. Furber’s current pursuits in fashion journalism align with her long-held appreciation for the industry.
